Hussein Javid’s Home Museum

Activity direction of the Hussein Javid’s Home Museum is researching and promoting of materials about Hussein Javid and generally Javids’ heritage.

In the decision of The Central Committee of the Communist Party of Azerbaijan on “On the 100th anniversary of Hussein Javid” made on July 21, 1981, it was stated to create memorial museum of Hussein Javid in Baku and Nakhchivan cities, to update the facade of the house No.8 situating at the address of Istiglaliyyat street (former Communist), Baku city which H.Javid lived in 1920-1937 years and to install a memorial plaque to the facade. By the decision No.160 dated on July 10, 1995, issue on the creation of Hussein Javid’s Home Museum (8, Istiglaliyyat street), location of museum in the 3rd floor of  the same building, including the entrance of 2nd floor, it transfer into submission of ANAS and naming it after “Hussein Javid’s Home Museum” was resolved.

On the 120th anniversary of Hussein Javid, October 24, 2002, the opening ceremony of Museum was held with the participation of the national leader of Azerbaijan Heydar Aliyev. He cut the ribbon for the opening of the Hussein Javid’s Home Museum, acquainted with the exposition, left memorable record in opinion book of museum and blessed on the future activities of the museum. Therefore the exposition of Hussein Javid’s Home Museum opened its doors to a wider audience since October 24, 2002.

The museum's structure

There are 8 departments in the museum. 6 of them are research department, 2 of  them  are  the  technical department.

- “Scientific and an artistic arrangement”     

     department

- “Scientific Exposition” department

- “Scientific information and library” department
